Great Plains Gifts began in 1999 when Don and Nancy began selling at near wholesale prices the items you see listed on this site. Owned, operated and maintained by them allows the prices to be kept low passing the savings onto you. The purpose of doing so was, and still is, to help suppliment their income to pay medical bills.

Don, born Indiana 1949 lived the majority of his life in Lincoln, NE. He was born with a bone disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) commonly known as "brittle bones." Even though he has a mild case of the disorder he has had over 50 broken bones. For this reason, Don and Nancy are unable to find and acquire medical insurance at an affordable cost.

He loves camping and fishing whenever time will allow. His favorite passion is playing golf. Even though he is a high handicapper he does play on a Golf League and plays as often as he can when not in a cast.

Nancy, born Colorado 1951 was an "Air Force Brat." She was relocated in such areas as Puerto Rico, Kansas, Maine and Colorado and wherever else her father was stationed. A few years ago she had to undergo back surgery which has now made it difficult for her to find work.

She enjoys crafts such as Plastic Art. She also enjoys working crossword puzzles, online word games and watching golf on TV along with Don. Camping and fishing is a relaxing luxury also when time permits.

Don and Nancy met in high school (Lincoln High) and were married in 1971. They have two children, both boys. Aaron born in 1979 and Kyle 1987.
